“U” Part Wig

Hey Loves, I just wanted to share with you an additional hairstyle option that I will be taking advantage of this fall/winter. As you all know I love tracks because I can play around with different styles without messing with my real hair. Well I decided to make a “U” Part wig a few weeks ago and boy oh boy has it extremely come in handy!

I used the following items;

  • Sport Stocking Wave Cap
  • Tracks (Premium Too Natural 14 and 16 inch)
  • Thread
  • Needle
  • Styrofoam Mannequin Head
  •  3 Hair Clip Combs

I started by placing the Sport Stocking Wave Cap on my head to ensure that it was the correct size and it had a little extra room which is important because when you begin to sew on the wave cap it will begin to alter the size making it fit much more snug. While having the wave cap on I drew where I wanted my leave out to be then I placed the stocking cap on the Mannequin Head and begin to sew away.

Once I stitched the tracks onto the wave cap to match my preference I then stitch the 3 hair clip combs onto the inside of the “U” Part Wig. Stitching one on the bottom where my neck line would be and the other two on the front edges.

The wig turned out perfect! When wearing it I section off my leave out and braid the rest. I put it on by simple using the 3 hair clip combs. Now I can switch things up a little, I can wear my tracks one day and change to my natural hair or Marley bun the next. Just for clarification purposes I will not wear my hair like this all of the time but it good to have options. Lets be honest, who doesn’t like options?

Have you tried any new hairstyles lately?

  2. That’s a really nice wig. I’ve been wanting to make one for awhile but I have two left thumbs when it comes to my hair and… sigh. I love weaves and wigs. I think they are a great tool when done correctly.
