Introduce yourselves:

Jazmine: Why hellllllo!! ::insertjazzhandshere:: ….I am Jazmine Harrison!!  One ½ of the Harrison girls dynamic duo!! Ok I just gave you a lot lol. But seriously, I am a 27 year old (28 on 9-29-13…”what’s yo zodiac siiiiign…LIBRA”!!!) southern belle. I would say I am a bit of a fireball. Well maybe a mix between a fireball and a cool summer breeze J, I monogram most all things…ok everything. If it’s blank it’s safe to say it will be stamped lol

Beyonce is my older sister in my head… no seriously. I am in the Bey-hive and I’m buzzing over here! If you know me, then you know allllll about my Bey stanism (definitely not a word lol). I think I go into a trance when her songs come on…scary O_O.

My sister is my side kick. If you don’t know her then you are missing something in your life! We are probably like Tia and Tamera to most but just regular old gals to me!

Jamia: Hey friends! I am Jamia Harrison, the little Harrison sister! I am 23 years (24 in September! Hey Virgos! ) and I currently live in Charlotte, NC! My mother would describe me as her free spirit child but I just enjoy a good time! I love all things monogrammed, southern, and fabulous!

Describe your relationship with your sibling:

Jazmine: Jamia and I have a really great relationship. I think that comes from awesome parents though.  My parents made sure we never let petty things get between us. We will argue at 5 and at 5:05 we are back on track. She is definitely the frick to my frack…Khole to my Kourtney…Aggie to my Pride. Ok ok but you get it. We are best buds.

Jamia: My sister and I are 4 years apart. Our relationship is nothing short of amazing! She is my very best friend and I couldn’t imagine life without her! We have so much fun together and the bond we have is like no other. Now… that’s not to say we don’t get on each other’s nerves lol. At the end of the day no disagreement could ever keep us apart! She knows me like no one else in this world!

Something that you love about your relationship with  your sibling and something that you could work on (Strengths and Weaknesses):

Jazmine: I love that we are the same person but different at the same time. We know what the other one is thinking without anyone speaking. We learn from each other so much. She probably doesn’t think so but I admire her confidence a lot. She owns who she is and I love it! That makes me want to work on my confidence and be a better me.

I think we could work on strengthening our communication more surrounding difficult topics. I know I tend to hold things in and that can manifest into something else. So I would say communication.

Jamia:  I don’t know if I can put into words what I love most about our relationship. I truly believe our parents did the most amazing job raising us and teaching us to really appreciate each other. My parents would never let us fight with each other and if we did we had to make up right away. I love how close I am with my sister and how we just get each other. I would say we talk about 5 or 6 times a day when we aren’t around each other! Our personalities balance each other out. She is my voice of reason at all times and I keep her in check too ;). If we had to work on anything in our relationship I would say it would be on me because I can been just a tad bossy at times but hey! I’m working on it lol.

Through the years was there a ever and older sister/younger sister complex? Do you guys have any funny stories?!

Jazmine: No complex I don’t think but I did shave her eyebrow off when I was 8 lol. I wanted to try to arch her eyebrows and I told her not to move. Of course she did and “oops”! I told her to act natural when she got around my parents. With a hand over her eye she went right up to my mom. Safe to say I got spanked for that. Lol

Jamia: Growing up like I said our parents always made sure we had a strong relationship with each other. We have always been very close and I wanted to be like her so bad when I was little. As kids, we would make up lame fun games and play them for hours. If we were having dinner we would play “Girlfriends” (pre Joan, Toni, Maya, and Lynn) and we would pretend we were at a fancy restaurant and eating a five star meal when we were really eating tuna sandwiches with chips and fruit lol. We were into music as kids thanks to my daddy! We would sing all the songs we knew on the radio and if it was a duet with a man and woman my sister would ALWAYS make me sing the man part *major side eye* lol. Now, she was the typical older sister. I did whatever she told me to do and totally believed everything she said, silly me! This is probably why I am so bossy now! lol.  One time when we were little she came up with this dumb grand idea to try to use one of my mom’s Gillette razors. Who did she use as a test dummy?! Little ol’ ME! Let’s just say the whole thing ended with me having one eyebrow! There was never a dull moment with us crazy girls!

Advice to other siblings:

Jazmine: Just have fun together and remember “Your little sister is your mirror, shining back at you with a world of possibilities. She is your witness, who sees you at your worst and best, and loves you anyway. She is your partner in crime, your midnight companion, someone who knows when you are smiling, even in the dark.” Never hold on to grudges or past pain. Talk about it and forgive.

Jamia: There should never be any competition between siblings. Appreciate your sibling for who they are and know that God created you both to be different. You should always respect and love your sibling no matter what because at the end of the day you will always need each other.

Why is it important to you to have a healthy bond with your sibling?

Jazmine: It’s important to have a great relationship because at the end of the day your family is all you have. They are the people that know you best and will have your back no matter what.

Jamia: I think it is very important to have a good relationship with your sister because who else in this world is going to know and love you like your blood sister will?! You have a lifetime friend that will never leave you hanging, will always support you, and will back you up no matter what. Sisters learn so much from each other. Without my sister I don’t think I would know half of the things I know especially when it comes to fashion, glam, and relationships!

I thank God for my sister every single day! She has such a beautiful spirit, loves unconditionally, and will do anything for anybody! She is absolutely the perfect role model for me. I am beyond proud to call her my blood sister and sorority sister!
