Grandma’s Chicken Salad Recipe

We don’t know why we thought a chicken salad recipe was some complicated and complex concoction but our grandmother shared a great chicken salad recipe with us. Place the chicken and half of an onion in a crock pot and allow it to cook for a few hours.

Once it has cooled off the chicken will literally fall off of the bone. Place it in a bowl and cut up the chicken (which isn’t difficult at all because of the crock pot). You can add your favorite ingredients, but we add:
  • Craisins
  • Celery
  • Red Bell Pepper
  • Apple
  • About a spoon full of Mayonnaise
photoAnd just that quickly you have chicken salad! A great go to recipe, we usually freeze half of it so we can eat the rest later. You can add bread and make a sandwich or put it on lettuce for a salad. It’s a healthy choice and with the help of the crock pot, our job is minimal. We love it! Thanks Grandma 🙂
