Life’s Migration

A few weeks ago, at night while I was laying in bed trying to fall asleep, I heard  a large flock of birds flying over my building. Now since winter is approaching I am assuming they were migrating south for the season. The sound of the birds came and quickly faded. Not to shortly after I heard one of two birds who seemed to have fallen a little behind the pack. This made me think of my current situation metaphorically.

Sometimes we all find ourselves feeling somewhat stifled, whether it is in a certain predicament and/or  current state of mind. While we feel everyone else around us is advancing. In time we may feel like we have found ourselves behind the pack.

Although I did notice that those last two birds were not traveling at the same pace as the rest of the pack, they were however still on the right path and  traveling in the same direction. That is the mind set that we need to choose to have. Since we all are individuals we must navigate through life at our own pace.  I challenge you to not look to your left or to your right to see what is going on with the person next to you but to focus on your own journey.

Although you may not currently be where you believed you would be at this point in time as long as you are still striving to get there that is all that matters.

“I believe that life is a journey, often difficult and sometimes incredibly cruel, but we are well equipped for it if only we tap into our talents and gifts and allow them to blossom.”
